Ravens Roost 4 Pack

Bob and Wendy Caldwell will be doing the 18th annual March for the Animals, the Maryland SPCA’s largest annual fundraiser.  They are looking for Roost members to join in the fun and do the walk with them.  Those interested to contact Bob at mr.bobcaldwell1[at]hotmail.com.  Walkers can bring their dogs, and although cat owners walk the event, it is usually without their pets.

If there is enough interest from the Roost, Bob would like to form a Ravens Roost pack, and have ‘Ravens Roost 4’ appear on our event t-shirts.

EVENT INFORMATION

Event Info:
The March for the Animals is the Maryland SPCA’s largest annual fundraiser, raising over $343,000 for the animals. This 1.5 mile walkathon is a great way for animal-lovers to support the MD SPCA’s mission of helping pets and people. The day is full of great activities including: pet contests, an agility course, training classes, pet demonstrations and entertainment. All of the money raised goes toward our adoption center, pet owner education, and the care of lost and homeless animals. What is a Pack?

A Pack is a group of your friends, family, neighbors and co-workers who walk together to

help the animals.  Packs consist of anywhere from four to twenty-five people; raise at least

$40 per person and a total of at least $500 as a group.

Why Walk in a Pack?

The animals need our help.  All proceeds from the March for the Animals goes directly to

provide care, shelter, food and medications to needy and unwanted animals in our adoption

center while they wait for new homes.  Encouraging more people to join you for the March

will help more animals and raise more awareness for needy animals.

Who can be in a Pack?

Packs must be at least four people (canines don’t count!)  You can ask your friends, family

members, classmates, co-workers, neighbors, or anyone you’d like!  Maximum number of

members in one pack is twenty-five people.

What are the advantages of walking in a Pack versus walking as an individual?

It’s fun!  And each Pack gets to create their own unique Pack name, which will be printed on

each Pack member’s March for the Animals t-shirt.  In addition, a digital photo is taken of

each Pack at the March for the Animals.  Pack members also receive the Maryland SPCA

bandana.  And, a great prize is awarded to the Top Pack that brings in the most pledges (Pack

members are also eligible for individual prizes).

**NEW IN 2013!  All Packs are invited to stop by the Pack Hospitality Tent at the March to

enjoy giveaways, meet local celebrities, have your team photo taken and more!**

How do you form a Pack?

Every Pack needs a Pack leader.  The Pack leader is responsible for registering the Pack

by April 5 and making sure the Pack consists of four to twenty-five people, raises at least

$40 per person and a total of at least $500.  Be sure to indicate what size t-shirt each

member needs!  Pack leaders are also responsible for picking up the t-shirts during one of the

two pre-registration events and distributing t-shirts to all Pack members.

Pack leaders are highly encouraged to attend one of our Pack Leader Info Meetings,

on either Saturday, March 9 at 11:00 a.m. or Monday, March 11 at 6:00 p.m.

at the Maryland SPCA Headquarters House.  Please RSVP to Tami Gosheff at

410.235.8826 ext. 138 or tgosheff@mdspca.org.
