Iggy’s Baltimore Sports Report – April 1, 2013

Ravens:
Flacco is no longer the highest over-paid player in the NFL. Tony Romo’s new deal puts him at the top of the list without the hardware to back it up like Flacco… Several NFL players are railing against the new rule on leading with your helmet. Ray Rice is the latest to speak out against the new rule… Ravens resigned Albert McClellan and Arther Jones, while also picking up CB/S Michael Huff from Oakland… Schedule should be out soon, and the Ravens are expected to open on the road, in Denver.

Orioles:
The Starting lineup is set, and the first game is tomorrow in Tampa. Home opener is on Friday. Current speculation is that the AL East is stacked with 5 teams that could win the division, but Toronto is the current favorite after their blockbuster spending spree in the off-season.

Alouettes
Nothing to report.

Blast:
Nothing to report.

Chesapeake Bayhawks: (Home games at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium)
Season opens on April 27 in Florida against Rochester.

Charm:
The Charm will open the 2013 season at Jacksonville on May 25.

Capitals (See website for more details):
The Caps have lost 2 of 3 and are tied for 2nd in the division, 1 point behind the 8th playoff spot.

Wizards (See website for more details):
With 9 games left, the Wizards have clinched their best record in 5 years, but playoffs are still a dream that is not happening this year.

Mystics (See website for more details):
Season opens May 27.

D.C.United (See website for more details):
United (1-2-1) travels to play Sporting KC on Friday.

What do you want to see in the Ravens report? What should be scrapped? Actually, never mind. No one is reading this anyway so you probably won’t know the difference. Send an email to iggy at tealdragon.net. Thanks!
