Iggy’s Baltimore Sports Report – March 4, 2014

Ravens:
Nothing new of “dumb dumb” Rice… Pitta signed to multi-year deal, but now the issue is Monroe, for whom we traded away draft picks, and could end up in a short term expensive rental… NFL considering moving extra point further back, in addition to eliminating the play altogether.

Orioles:
O’s still not done their transactions as a minor league deal is in the work with Santana. They are 2-2 in Spring Training so far.

Alouettes
Nothing new to report.

Blast:
The Blast finish season 17-3, and steal away top playoff seed from Milwaukee. Playoff schedule a little fuzzy, but it looks like they travel to play 4th seeded Syracuse on Friday.

Chesapeake Bayhawks: (Home games at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium)
Nothing new to report.

Charm:
Nothing to Report.

Capitals (See website for more details):
Caps had won 4 in a row until an OT loss to Philly on Sunday. Caps are in 9th place, only a tie-breaker behind Detroit for the playoff field.

Wizards (See website for more details):
The Wizards (31-29) finally elevated above .500 after a 6 game winning streak, which ended Monday against Memphis. Wizards are still 5th seed in the conference.

Mystics (See website for more details):
Schedule is posted. First game is at home, May 16 against Minnesota.

D.C.United (See website for more details):
With a 2-2 draw, United departs Charleston the Champion of the 2014 Carolina Challenge Cup… First game is Saturday, at home against Columbus.

What do you want to see in the Ravens report? What should be scrapped? Actually, never mind. No one is reading this anyway so you probably won’t know the difference. Send an email to iggy at tealdragon.net. Thanks!
