Iggy’s Baltimore Sports Report – March 9, 2014

Ravens:
Ravens and OL Monroe are far apart in contract negotiations with Monroe asking $10M/year, expect him gone… Jah Reid arrested, charged with misdemeanor battery in Key West… Arthur Jones receiving heavy interest by other teams… Ravens made offer to Jacoby Jones, but no discussions being held…

Orioles:
Orioles have been getting several good starts from Jiminez, Norris, and Chen, most recently, which is highly encouraging… Rumors have Ervin Santana as landing in either Baltimore or Toronto as well, which could really crowd our rotation.

Alouettes
Nothing new to report.

Mariners
After going 16-0 in 2010, and then being disbanded due to league financial violations, the league has returned to Baltimore with a reconstituted Mariner team for the 2014 season. See website for schedule.

Blast:
The Blast started the playoffs with a 20-7 win over Syracuse, with leg two in Baltimore on Tuesday night.

Chesapeake Bayhawks: (Home games at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium)
Nothing new to report.

Charm:
Nothing to Report.

Capitals (See website for more details):
Caps finally won again after losing 3 straight. They are currently 10th in the conference, 1 point behind the final playoff spot.

Wizards (See website for more details):
The Wizards (33-29) have now won 8 of their last 9, and still sit in the 5th seed of the conference, 1.5 games behind Chicago.

Mystics (See website for more details):
Schedule is posted. First game is at home, May 16 against Minnesota.

D.C.United (See website for more details):
United open the season with a 3-0 loss to Columbus. Next game is March 22 at Toronto.

What do you want to see in the Ravens report? What should be scrapped? Actually, never mind. No one is reading this anyway so you probably won’t know the difference. Send an email to iggy at tealdragon.net. Thanks!
