Iggy’s Baltimore Sports Report – May 26, 2014

Maryland women’s lacrosse team wins the NCAA Divisions I Lacrosse Tournament! Go Terps!

Ravens:
Ray Rice issues formal appologies to everyone is a statement… $5.5M is salary cap space still left… Ravens and M&T Bank have reached an agreement to extend their partnership through 2027.

Orioles:
O’s traded Patton to SD for a C and money. This could be an indication that they expect Wieters out for an extended period of time… O’s remain a couple games behind red-hot Toronto, and those darn yankees.

Alouettes
First preseason game is June 14.

Mariners
Mariner’s (4-2) have clinched #2 seed for the playoffs despite being forced to forfeit Saturday’s game against Atlanta after an issue arose regarding the Arena that could not be resolved. Further digging appears that it was a financial issue, possibly that the Mariners couldn’t pay their rent!

Blast:
Nothing new to report.

Chesapeake Bayhawks: (Home games at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium)
The Bayhawks (1-3) next game is home on May 31 against Ohio.

Charm:
Charm (0-1) lost season opener to the Jacksonville Breeze 27-12. Next game is June 21 at Toledo.

Capitals (See website for more details):
Nothing to report.

Wizards (See website for more details):
Nothing to report.

Mystics (See website for more details):
Mystics have lost 2 of first 3 gmes.

D.C.United (See website for more details):
United (5-4-3) beat Houston and lost to New England over the last week. Next game is Saturday against Kansas City. DC is tied for 2nd with KC, with NE in First.

What do you want to see in the Ravens report? What should be scrapped? Actually, never mind. No one is reading this anyway so you probably won’t know the difference. Send an email to iggy at tealdragon.net. Thanks!
