Iggy’s Baltimore Sports Report – December 23, 2014

Ravens:
The Ravens once again prove they can’t handle 2nd string (or worse) quarterbacks. After delivering one of the worst performances they have given in a long time, the Ravens now face Cleveland in a “must win, and pray” scenario that involves San Diego losing to Kansas City. With the way the Chargers have been playing lately (and the Chiefs for that matter), we are probably looking at another long off-season.

Orioles:
The Orioles have announced that Scott Coolbaugh, who spent the last eight seasons in the Rangers organization, will fill their vacancy as their Major League hitting coach.

Alouettes
Nothing to report.

Mariners
Nothing to report as the 2015 season remains in question as the battle with the Baltimore Arena remains an issue.

Blast:
The Blast (7-0) started a 3 game road trip with a win at Syracuse, before Traveling to Rochester for a game this Saturday.

Chesapeake Bayhawks: (Home games at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium)
Nothing to report.

Charm:
Nothing to Report.

Capitals (See website for more details):
Caps (17-10-6, 40 Points) are still trying to make up ground on the evil penguins.

Wizards (See website for more details):
Wizards (19-7) have slipped half a game behind Atlanta for the division lead.

Mystics (See website for more details):
Nothing to report.

D.C.United (See website for more details):
Nothing to report.

What do you want to see in the Ravens report? What should be scrapped? Actually, never mind. No one is reading this anyway so you probably won’t know the difference. Send an email to iggy at tealdragon.net. Thanks!

Iggy’s Predictions

“Past performance does not guarantee future success, but it sure is the way to bet!”

  • Week 16:
    • Jags over Titans (+3.5). 4 wins between them. How can Thursday Night Football ratings go any lower? They figured that out! Jags are just messing up their draft pick order.
    • Eagles over Potatoes (+8.5). Philly needs to regain ground lost to Dallas last week. Potatoes put Eagles out of the Playoffs
    • Chargers (+2.5) over SF. SF has given up. Rivers pulls another major comeback to win in OT.
    • Ravens over Houston (+4.5). Should be a close game, and taking the points might not be a bad idea. Ravens stink it up.
    • Browns (+3.5) over Carolina. Johnny Football to rebound in game 2. Panthers assures Cleveland another last place finish.
    • Lions over Bears (+4.5). Lions have visions of a division title. Lions face Packers for the Division Title this week.
    • Fins over Vikings (+6.5), but take the points. Minnesota has covered 3 times, and Fins are on the edge of imploding. Miami scores late for the win.
    • Saints over Falcons (+6.5), but take the points. Division title could be on the line. Falcons put Saints out of playoffs, face Panthers for division title.
    • Pats over Jets (+10.5). Pats have clinched but need to stay ahead of Denver for #1 Seed. 1-point game. really?
    • Squealors over Chefs (+3.5), but take the points. KC tries to hold on to what little hope they have left. steelers clinch playoff spot with win, face Cincinnati for division title.
    • Packers over Tampa (+10.5), but take the points. Packers have failed to cover 4 times, and the Bucs have overturned 4 games on points. Green Bay finishes tampa.
    • Rams over Giants (+5.5). Giants are in shambles. Apparently not.
    • Indy (+2.5) over Boys. Dallas set for big let down after big win. Luck runs out, Cowboys run up the score.
    • Bills over Raiders (+5.5), but take the points. In Buffalo, this would be a blow out, but in Oakland, a different story. Bills lost in black hole.
    • Seattle over Arizona (+7.5). Seattle won by 16 in Seattle, and that is when Arizona still had Palmer. Without Palmer, they have no chance. Seattle claims lead spot in division, conference.
    • Denver over Cincy (+3.5), but take the points. Denver has problems covering the spread this year, overturned 4 times. Bengals clinch playoff spot.
    • This Week: 8-8 Straight Up and 8-8 Against the Spread
    • Season: 145-94-1 Straight Up and 105-135 Against the Spread
  • Week 17:
    • Baltimore over Cleveland (+8.5), but take the points. I want to believe we can win this game, but don’t expect it to be by much.
    • Houston over Jags (+9.5). Houston’s D will carry them.
    • KC over Chargers (+2.5). Doesn’t matter what I think. This is about what we need!
    • Miami over Jets (+5.5), but take the points. Despite records, Jets have played tough this year.
    • Minnesota over da Bears (+6.5). Vikings undefeated (3-0) when favored.
    • Pats over Bills (+3.5). With Denver’s loss on Monday night, Pats clinch Home Field. Nothing to play for.
    • Eagles (+2.5) over Giants. Both teams out, but Eagles are the better team.
    • Saints over Tampa (+3.5), but take the points. Another meaningless game. Toss a coin.
    • Indy over Tennessee (+3.5). Indy needs to prove they belong in the playoffs after last week’s drubbing.
    • Dallas over Skins (+6.5). Boys have a first round bye on the line, although they may need some help for that.
    • Atlanta over Carolina (+3.5). Atlanta is the better team.
    • Green Bay over Detroit (+7.5). Would you really go against Aaron Rodgers at home with the division title on the line?
    • Seattle over Rams (+12.5) but take the points. Rams have been tough lately, despite being out of it for a while.
    • Denver over Oakland (+14.5), but take the points. Denver needs a win to keep first round bye.
    • San Fran over Arizona (+5.5), but take the points. Arizona is still nothing without Palmer.
    • Squealers over Bungles (+3.5). They beat them once this season, and they will do it again.
