Iggy’s Baltimore Sports Report – November 19, 2015

News and Personal Thoughts:
The GoogleDoc ticket sharing status: NEW ENTRY for St. Louis game and several outstanding tickets available for Seattle and Pittsburgh. Check it out at Ravens Roost 4 Ticket Exchange.

Ravens:
The death toll has reached 17 (Ravens on IR), and the Refs created a new way for us to lose on Sunday. At this point, there is very little hope left to salvage this season, nor reason for players to play their hardest and get injured themselves. As far as I am concerned, if we only win 1 more game (pittsburgh), then so be it.

Orioles:
Former Orioles Jake Arrieta wins a Cy Young award… Orioles have been negotiating off and on with pittsburg for 2B Neil Walker as a contingency plan at 1B should Davis and Pearce not resign… Orioles are promising a major push to sign a top tier pitcher, which, in my opinion is Jordan Zimmerman. I expect this to be an attempt to mask the loss of offensive power by adding defensive strength… With the expected departure of Darren O’Day, the Orioles will also be needing a set up man… Matt Wieters become one of the first 3 players (all this season) ever to accept a “qualifying offer.” Earlier speculation was that the Orioles should NOT extend the offer, because he might take it. At $15.8M, he is the 2nd highest paid Oriole (Adam Jones) on the Roster.

Alouettes
Both home teams won this past weekend with Hamilton defeating Toronto, and Calgary defeating BC. The Ti-Cats will now travel to Ottawa, and the Stampeders to Edmonton.

Blast (MASL):
The Blasts are now 2-0 and 1st place in their division; ranked 3rd in the league.

Chesapeake Bayhawks: (Home games at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium)
Nothing new to report.

Capitals (See website for more details):
At 12-4-1, the Caps are in 2nd place, 5 points behind the Rangers.

Wizards (See website for more details):
The Wizards are 5-4, which is good for 3rd in the division and 6th in the conference.

Mystics (See website for more details):
Nothing to Report.

D.C.United (See website for more details):
Dallas plays Portland, and New York plays Columbus in the first round of a 2 game aggregate series starting on Sunday.

What do you want to see in the Ravens report? What should be scrapped? Actually, never mind. No one is reading this anyway so you probably won’t know the difference. Send an email to iggy at tealdragon.net. Thanks!

Iggy’s Predictions

“Past performance does not guarantee future success, but it sure is the way to bet!”

  • NFL, Week 10
    • Jets over Bills (+2.5). Jets seem to have more momentum right now. Ryan gets revenge on his old team.
    • Ravens over Jags (+5.5), but take the points. You KNOW this will be decided by 1 score or less. We should have!
    • pit over Browns (+4.5). I can only hope that Cleveland can win. Didn’t matter who the QB was.
    • Panthers over Titans (+4.5), but take the points. Titans are 5-1 and covered 3 times this season as the underdog, but note that Carolina is also 5-1 and failed to cover once as the favorite. Carolina stays unbeaten.
    • Rams over Bears (+7.5). Rams have the better D. Bears ate Rams.
    • Dallas (+1.5) over Tampa. 2 teams not making the playoffs. Dallas fails late.
    • Packers over Detroit (+11.5). Need to add more points. GB loses 3rd straight.
    • Eagles over Fins (+6.5). Miami is looking really bad lately. Miami wins by 1, as Bradford goes out.
    • Saints over Skins (+1.5). With as bad as the Saints have been playing, skins could win this one. WTF?
    • Vikings (+3.5) over Raiders. Minnesota is tied for first, and Bridgewater is on pace to play. Minnesota is looking real this year, take over First place.
    • Denver over KC (+6.5). KC injuries and location lead me to Denver. Manning sidelined.
    • Pats over Giants (+7.5), but take the points. Giants have always had the Pats number, but can they give them their first loss… again? Giants, like the Ravens had too many chances to seal a win and could not.
    • Cards (+2.5) over Seattle. Don’t care if it is in Seattle, this is not the Seattle of recent years. Arizona wins shootout.
    • Cincinnati over Houston (+10.5). Blow out of the week. The Points were more than either team scored.
    • This Week: 5-9 SU (Straight Up), 5-9 ATS (Against the Spread)
    • This Season: 89-57 SU, 79-67 ATS
  • NFL, Week 11
    • Titans (+2.5) over Jags. Titans are 5-2 as the underdog.
    • Rams (+2.5) over Ravens. We are cursed.
    • Panthers over skins (+7.5). Don’t get fooled by the skins win last week. They still stink.
    • Denver (+.5) over Chicago. Manning is out, but they still have a decent Defense.
    • Dallas over Miami (+.5). Romo is back. May not be much, but it will be enough to beat Miami.
    • Raiders over Detroit (+1.5). Raiders to make a push for the playoffs this year.
    • Jets over Houston (+2.5). Houston may be tied for first, but that doesn’t say much in that division.
    • Colts (+5.5) over Atlanta. Falcons have been flat for a while.
    • Philly over Tampa (+5.5), but take the points. Anticipating a close game.
    • KC over SD (+3.5), but take the points. Chargers need a boost, especially when they keep coming up just short.
    • Vikings over Packers (+.5). How often does GB become the underdog at home? That says something.
    • Seattle over SF (+12.5), but take the points. Expecting Gabbert to spark the office to cover the spread.
    • Cards over Bengals (+3.5). Too close to call, so I flipped a coin. Last Monday night didn’t help my decision making process either.
    • Pats over Bills (+7.5), but take the points. Patriots haven’t been blowing people out, so going with the points.
