Iggy’s Baltimore Sports Report – December 15, 2015

News and Personal Thoughts:
GoogleDoc ticket sharing status: 1 set of tickets for Pittsburgh still. Check it out at Ravens Roost 4 Ticket Exchange.

Ravens:
Well, the last thing to keep going, stopped. With an NFL record 12 consecutive games to start a season decided by 8 points or less has been broken. No lucky 13 as the Ravens produced an abysmal outting. Frankly speaking, we have NOTHING left to play for now (save minimizing injuries to our own players) as we have clinched a losing season for the first time since 2007 and were officially eliminated from the playoff hunt (where is my shocked face?). Only positives was that I felt more comfortable with Clausen that Schaub, but the end zone was elusive. We had NO running game, our offensive line was completely over-matched, and our defense was exceptionally weak. As a matter of fact, 3rd down was something for Russell Wilson to look forward too, not the Ravens fans.

Now the quandary: With KC inches ahead of pittsburgh for a Wild Card, the Ravens winning on Sunday helps the steelers. No, I can’t bring myself to root against the Ravens, but I’m just saying…

Orioles:
O’Day is officially signed, and the Chris Davis offer has been officially withdrawn. We have also made an offer to a Korean professional OF who throws right and bats left.

Alouettes
Nothing to report.

Blast (MASL):
The Blasts improved to 6-0.

Chesapeake Bayhawks: (Home games at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium)
Nothing new to report: The Bayhawks open the season on April 23 in Atlanta, before 3 straight home games.

Capitals (See website for more details):
The Caps are now 21-6-2, are now 3 ahead in the standings, tops in conference and 2nd best record in the NHL… but can they keep this up?

Wizards (See website for more details):
At 10-13, the Wizards are still in last place in a division where everyone else is now above .500.

Mystics (See website for more details):
Nothing to Report.

D.C.United (See website for more details):
Nothing to Report.

What do you want to see in the Ravens report? What should be scrapped? Actually, never mind. No one is reading this anyway so you probably won’t know the difference. Send an email to iggy at tealdragon.net. Thanks!

Iggy’s Predictions

“Past performance does not guarantee future success, but it sure is the way to bet!”

  • NFL, Week 14
    • Arizona over Vikings (+7.5), but take the points. I don’t like this match-up on the short week, but a great Thursday night game. Zona wins, Vikes cover.
    • Seattle over Baltimore (+7.5), but take the points. We haven’t lost by more than a score yet, so why start now? We’re done. Stick a fork in us.
    • Bills over Eagles (+.5). Which Eagle team shows up? Eagles win to stay pace with Skins, still below .500.
    • SF (+1.5) over Cleveland. SF to extend win streak to 2. … or not.
    • Panthers over Atlanta (+7.5). Falcons have wasted a excellent season start. Panthers staking a claim for respect.
    • Bears over Skins (+3.5), but take the points. Down to a last second FG, again! Gould missing game tying FG at the end.
    • Bengals over Squealors (+3.5). I so wanted to pick pit to win, but Cincinnati is 9-1 as the favorite, while stealers are 2-4 as the dog. Dalton broken thumb.
    • Rams over Lions (+.5). Although Lions have come on strongly lately, Rams for the win. Rams win by 7.
    • Colts (+.5) over Jags. Colts 5-1 as the underdog, although they lost last week in the same situation. Jags got medieval on the Colts, still in the division hunt at 5-8!?
    • Chefs over Chargers (+9.5). Chefs are thinking playoffs. Chargers are thinking KC BBQ. Chefs win by 7.
    • Tampa over Saints (+3.5). Tampa on the fringe of playoffs… Saints, not so much. Saints spoiling Tampa’s dream for the post season.
    • Jets over Titans (+7.5), but take the points. Jets are the better team, but Titans should make a game of it. Jets win and cover.
    • Denver over Oakland (+7.5), but take the points. Raiders are 5-3 as the underdog, while Denver is 4-4 as the favorite. Oakland wins outright.
    • Packers over Dallas (+7.5). Should be a blow out. Packers put Dallas way back in the playoff hunt.
    • Patsies over Houston (+3.5). NE to bring it on prime time after back to back losses. NE schooled the Texans.
    • Midgets over Doll-Fins (+1.5). Will anyone notice when this game ends? Starts? Manning looks great in win.
    • This Week: 9-7 SU (Straight Up), 8-8 ATS (Against the Spread)
    • This Season: 123-85 SU, 105-103 ATS
  • NFL, Week 15
    • Rams over Bucks (+1.5). Although TB has QB of their future, Rams at home will be tough.
    • Jets over Dallas (+3.5). Jet are in a playoff position and need to keep the intensity. Dallas is about out with loss last week.
    • KC over Baltimore (+7.5). QB up in the air, and the streak over… be safe.
    • Houston (+.5) over Indy. I picked Houston because I already picked too many teams that were favorites. Flip a coin.
    • Pats over TN (+13.5), but take the points. NE has failed to cover 4 times, and TN has covered thrice. Just playing the odds here.
    • Skins (+.5) over Bills. Skins are dreaming of a division title.
    • Vikings over Bears (+5.5). Minnesota had 10 days to prepare after Thursday night loss.
    • Panthers over Giants (+5.5). I don’t think Carolina will let up with the clinching.
    • Jags over Atlanta (+3.5). Falcons are roadkill.
    • Packers over Raiders (+3.5), but take the points. GB has been up and down. With game in Oakland, I think this might be close.
    • Seattle over Cleveland (+14.5). Seattle is hottest team right now.
    • Bengals over Niners (+4.5). Even with backup QB, Cincinnati will roll.
    • Denver (+6.5) over Pittsburgh. Wishful thinking partly, but in the very least I think Denver should cover those points. They have the D to keep it close.
    • Chargers over Miami (+1.5). Does anyone want to win this game?
    • Arizona over Philly (+3.5), but take the points. Arizona has failed to cover 3 times, while Philly is 3-1 as the underdog.
    • Saints over Detroit (+2.5). Saints are back on track, but going no where.
