Iggy’s Baltimore Sports Report – January 5, 2016

Ravens:
Well, that fiasco is done. Ravens get 6th overall pick. Enough said.

Orioles:
No new rumors, only speculation. Anticipating Chris Davis may come back to the O’s to negotiate because no one else is willing to pay his price.

Alouettes
Nothing to report.

Blast (MASL):
The Blast (9-0) took 2 this past weekend to stay undefeated.

Chesapeake Bayhawks: (Home games at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium)
Nothing new to report: The Bayhawks open the season on April 23 in Atlanta, before 3 straight home games.

Capitals (See website for more details):
The Caps (28-7-3) returned back to earth with a couple losses recently, and remain 1 point behind Dallas for best record in the NHL.

Wizards (See website for more details):
The Wizards have dropped to 15-17 as they battle injuries.

Mystics (See website for more details):
Nothing to Report.

D.C.United (See website for more details):

What do you want to see in the Ravens report? What should be scrapped? Actually, never mind. No one is reading this anyway so you probably won’t know the difference. Send an email to iggy at tealdragon.net. Thanks!

Iggy’s Predictions

“Past performance does not guarantee future success, but it sure is the way to bet!”

  • NFL, Week 17
    • Bengals over the Ravens (+7.5). I win would be nice, but would cost us big in the draft. We have nothing to gain by winning. Ravens completed season with 14 of 16 games decided by 1 score or less.
    • Jets over Bills (+2.5). Bills have a chance to be spoilers, but Jets proved they want to make the playoffs last week against NE. Jets SH!T the bed, give playoff spot to squealors.
    • Pats over Fins (+9.5). For once Miami gets this game at home in December, but it won’t help. Fins are 2-7 as the underdog. Pats back into first round bye.
    • Saints (+4.5) over Falcons. Atlanta got their claim to fame last week, knocking off Carolina. Game ended, but no one noticed they started.
    • Texans over Jags (+6.5). Texans control their own destiny. Houston claims division title with a win.
    • steelers over Browns (+9.5), but take the points. In the end, steelers will win, but Cleveland will but up a heck of a fight first. Browns fire coach… again.
    • Titans (+6.5) over Colts. Despite slim division title hopes, Colts will fall to Tennessee, as they are 1-6 as favorites. Colts win, but fail to cover.
    • Washington (+3.5) over Dallas. This is Dallas’ Super Bowl, but being at home makes this a bigger hurdle in this division. Washington riding high into playoffs, but those last few wins were against division foes who collectively suck.
    • Bears over Lions (+.5). Lions won by 3 at home earlier this season. Expect a flip-flop this time around. No one was afraid of these Lions and Bears. Where were the Tigers anyway?
    • Eagles (+3.5) over Giants. Philly won by 20 earlier this season, and with both team done, expect the road team to be on top again. Eagles jump out early and give a better draft pick to the Giants.
    • KC over Oakland (+6.5), but take the points. Raiders are 6-4 as the underdog, and KC is already in the playoffs but has division title dreams. KC kept hopes of division title alive, but it was not in their hands.
    • Carolina over Tampa (+10.5). Panthers need win for home field advantage throughout playoffs, and beat Tampa by 14 in Tampa earlier this season already. Carolina took care of business.
    • Denver over Chargers (+8.5), but take the points. Chargers have covered 4 times this season, and the Broncos have failed to cover thrice. Manning saves the win and division title.
    • Rams over SF (+3.5). Rams are playing for pride, hoping they won’t be forced to re-locate. Niners win in OT in this meaningless game.
    • Cardinals over Seattle (+6.5). Seattle has clinched the 6th seed with no chance to advance. Cards want home field. AZ took their 2 seed and went home… early.
    • Packers over Vikings (+3.5), but take the points. Packers won by 17 earlier this season in Minnesota, but winner gets a home playoff game. Viking claim division title, and the right to host Seattle (Was that really a win?)
    • This Week: 9-7 SU (Straight Up), 10-6 ATS (Against the Spread)
    • This Season: 155-101 SU, 131-125 ATS
  • NFL, Wild Card Weekend
    • KC over Houston (+3.5). Houston is champion of the dung heap. Now they have to play with the big boys.
    • Pit over Cincy (+2.5). Real question is whether or not Marvin Lewis still has a job after another 1 and down playoff run.
    • Seattle over MN (+5.5), but take the points. Vikings are 5-1 as the underdog, but Seattle is peaking at the right time.
    • GB (1.5) over Wash. Like Houston, Skins rose out of a weak division, and now they have to play for keeps. Go with the playoff experience.
