Iggy’s Baltimore Sports Report – September 27, 2016

Ravens:
Drama? You want Drama? We got your drama right here! Just as the guy sitting in front of me at the Orioles game was saying that we can’t win 2 weeks in a row on a game ending INT, we snag a game ending INT. Flacco was his usual inconsistent self. If it wasn’t for the 21 in a row, his numbers would have been horrible. Running game? What running game? Our defence came through, but what will they do against a good QB? I opponents for the first three weeks combine for a 1-8 record, and now we go up against a surprisingly 2-1 Raider team. PS: I still don’t think the place at the end of the first half was leveraging, but I will take it.

Well, it is what it is, and it all looks the same in the standings, which now has us alone after the stealers got their behinds handed to them by their cross state rivals. This week, the Ravens enter the game as 3+ point favorites, which is the standard home field advantage. Just goes to show that the odds makers don’t know what to make of us either.

Orioles:
Back in the #2 wild card, the Orioles have a change to take control of their post season destiny with a strong finish, but recent history is not in their favor. Since the All-Star break, the O’s are .500, and that doesn’t win titles, that sends you home to play golf. Win 5 or 6 of the final 6, and we are in. 4 will gaurantee at least a tie-breaker game. Anything less, and we ar at the mercy of the out-of-town scoreboard. Can they do it? I hope so!

Alouettes
The Als (3-9) were off last week. They host Toronto on Sunday.

Blast (MISL):
Nothing new to report.

Chesapeake Bayhawks: (Home games at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium)
Nothing new to report.

Capitals (See website for more details):
Preseason has started. Regular season opens October 13 at pittsburgh. [spit]

Wizards (See website for more details):
First preseason game in 1 week.

D.C.United (See website for more details):
With a win this weekend, DC United moved into 6th place at 8-9-13. With 4 games left, United has slipped into the final of 6 playoffs spots.

What do you want to see in the Ravens report? What should be scrapped? Actually, never mind. No one is reading this anyway so you probably won’t know the difference. Send an email to iggy at tealdragon.net. Thanks!
