Iggy’s Baltimore Sports Report – May 3, 2016

Ravens:
General consensus is that the Ravens scored a B+ in the draft by loading up on young players to restock the roster. The Jags were generally considered to have done their best by stocking up on defensive talent, and the Eagles did the least to help their cause. Mike Preston accused the Ravens of playing it “too safe” and not taking enough risks to push them over the edge. Only time will tell, as all teams are gawking at their prom dates. Check back in 6 months and see if they are still the girl the asked out in April.

Ticket Sharing Google Doc

To help everyone buy and sell tickets, I threw together a ticket sharing Google Doc for the Roost. It is accessible via the link only, and everyone can edit. The link is

3 tabs: Instructions, Selling, Buying

Please add a line if you want to Sell or buy, and remove that line once that transaction is complete. I included a sample line for your reference.

Let me know if you have any questions, problems, or alternative ideas on how to manage our ticket trades in a more organized fashion.

Roost 4 & Team CRRUDE Doin’ the Deep Creek Dunk TODAY!

Greetings!

LAST CALL!

Today we’re reaching out to you to ask for your help. On February 21, 2015 (TODAY!!!) we’ve committed to do a daring deed for the athletes of Special Olympics Maryland (SOMD) by taking a chilly dunk into Deep Creek Lake in scenic Western Maryland. Once again we’re dunking as members of the Council of Ravens Roosts Ultimate Dunk Extraordinaires (Team CRRUDE).

Y’all know the drill … follow the link below to my personal Dunk page and donate what you can on my behalf to benefit Special Olympics Maryland!

So please, if you can, make a donation to Special Olympics Maryland on behalf of me or Frosty or Rob taking the 2015 Deep Creek Dunk. Any amount would be greatly appreciated! It all goes to a wonderful cause … and would also help Team CRRUDE out-fundraise all the other teams out there in “Steeler Country”! Team CRRUDE has been the top fundraising team at the Dunk for the last several years. Go Ravens!!!

Thank you muchly! We’ll do our best to make you and all of our athletic supporters (& not just the jocks) proud!

Follow This Link to visit my personal web page and help me in my efforts to support Special Olympics Maryland. Let it snow!!!

Iggy’s Baltimore Sports Report – December 3, 2013

Ravens:
In a wild and crazy Thanksgiving Day Game, the Ravens held on to defeat the Pittsburgh Steelers despite the Steeler Head Coach Mike Tomlin interfering with Jacoby Jones in what could have been a game sealing touchdown. Furthermore, if the soon-to-be-demoted refereeing crew had flagged the incident, we could have been AWARDED a game sealing touchdown. But, alas, they missed another good game, and Mike Tomlin is set to endure a hefty fine from the league in what could be a major statement penalty by the league, looking to crack down on sideline interference problems. The Ravens red zone woes continued as the had to settle for 5 field goals, and Ray Rice’s temper got the best of him, almost costing us one of those FGs. All in all, a typical Ravens/Steelers game.

Now, with that win, the Ravens are poised to be the 6th and final seed in the playoffs. Unfortunately, there are 4 more regular season games left including the final 3 against division leaders. Every game is a must win from here on out, which actually started with the Jets game. Formula is simple: Win and we are in. Execution might be more complicated than that. First things first, the Ravens host the Vikings in what looks to be a dreary day with all sorts of precipitation possible. This game cannot be overlooked, nor can Adrian Peterson who can single handedly destroy any team.
