News & Commentary

News and Personal Thoughts:
Nothing to report.

Ravens:
Flacco likely a franchise tag for 2013… Ed Reed still playing with, er, playing or retiring (again) — Iggy’s take is that
it’s his best way to get attention without getting in trouble… Rice will get worked out, but it might not be until a couple
weeks into camp.

Orioles:
Orioles all star representation was salvaged by Jim Johnson (1 IP, 1 K, no runners allowed), since Wieters and
Jones went a combined 0 for 3 as the AL fell flat on their face. For the O’s to salvage the remainder of the seaseon
(6-13 over the last 3 weeks going in to the all start break), they will need to acquire one of the time starters being
marketed. Big question is whether or not the O’s are willing to pony up what it takes to get the player(s) they want most.
Mid season analysts expect the O’s to drop as far as 4th place, unless they can make major strides in securing a top starter.

Alouettes
The Als (2-1) scored with 47 seconds left to sneak past Calgary (1-2), 33-32.
Next week, the Als travel to Hamilton (0-2) for a Saturday game.

Blast:
Nothing to report.

Chesapeake Bayhawks: (Home games at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium)
The Hawks (7-2) fell to the Charlotte Hounds (3-6), 13-12. They now lead Boston and Denver by 1 game.
Saturday, they travel to Rochester (5-4) to face the Rattlers.

Charm:
Nothing to report.

Capitals (See website for more details):
Caps contineu to sign/re-sign a host of players. Check website for details.

Wizards (See website for more details):
Summer league starts on Friday… Wizards resign Cartier Martin.

Mystics (See website for more details):
Mystics lost 4 games over the last week. Their W-L record is not worth reporting at this time.

D.C.United (See website for more details):
United (10-5-3) was off this week. They are still tied with KC for the conference leads, 2 points ahead of NY.
Next game is July 15, at Houston (5th place in Eastern Conference, 6-5-7)

What do you want to see in the Ravens report? What should be scrapped? Actually, nevermind. No one is reading this anyway
so you probably won’t know the difference. Send an email to iggy at tealdragon.net. Thanks!
