Iggy’s Baltimore Sports Report – May 2, 2014

Ravens:
Ray Rice seems to have worked out a deal to avoid jail, but we should still expect about a 2 game suspension from the league… Draft starts this week. Expect the Ravens to trade down to get more picks.

Orioles:
Orioles swept a double header from the pirates. I don’t care what sport it is, beating pittsburgh ALWAYS feels good… Chris Davis on 15 day DL, but expect that to be more like 30… Steve Pearce cut, and then resigned to fill in at first base… Manny Machado was activated on Thursday.

Alouettes
The Als signed former Kansas State standout quarterback Collin Klein to a two-year deal. He went undrafted and unsigned last year after failing to be offered a contract coming out of Texans Rookie camp.

Mariners
Mariner’s (2-0) next game is May 3 at York.

Blast:
Nothing to report.

Chesapeake Bayhawks: (Home games at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium)
The Bayhawks lost the opener 15-9 to Boston; home opener is Saturday, May 3 against Long Island.

Charm:
Charm (0-1) lost season opener to the Jacksonville Breeze 27-12. Next game is June 21 at Toledo.

Capitals (See website for more details):
Nothing to report.

Wizards (See website for more details):
Wizards defeat Chicago 4 games to 1 in first round; await next opponent.

Mystics (See website for more details):
First game is at home, May 16 against Minnesota.

D.C.United (See website for more details):
United (3-2-2) defeated Dallas 4-1 last weekend and will travel to play Portland on May 3.

What do you want to see in the Ravens report? What should be scrapped? Actually, never mind. No one is reading this anyway so you probably won’t know the difference. Send an email to iggy at tealdragon.net. Thanks!
