Iggy’s Baltimore Sports Report for November 18, 2014

Ravens:
Well we didn’t lose anything in the bye week. Cleveland crapped the bed, while Cincinnati and pittsburgh both won, leaving us a half game behind the bungles and stealers, instead of the brownies. The bye week came at a great time, but can’t fix the fact that Brees will shred our Swiss cheese secondary like a hot knife through butter. I sure hope I am wrong, but if the likes of brainlessburger can rack up 6 TDs against us, imagine what a good QB is going to do?

Orioles:
No real action, although rumors has Markakis talks heating up, as well as ongoing discussions with Nelson Cruz. Meanwhile, Bud Norris and Ubaldo Jiminez are reportedly on the trading block.

Alouettes
The Montreal Alouettes (10-9) got medieval on BC, 50-17, setting up a divisional title rematch against Hamilton, who beat the Als to finish the regular season, and claim the division title.

Mariners
Nothing to report as the 2015 season remains in question as the battle with the Baltimore Arena remains an issue.

Blast:
The Blast plastered Detroit Waza Flo 26-0, in a rare lopsided shutout. Next game is Friday against Harrisburg Heat before hitting the road for the first time this year.

Chesapeake Bayhawks: (Home games at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium)
Nothing to Report..

Charm:
Nothing to Report.

Capitals (See website for more details):
Caps have evened up 7-7-3 (17 Points), 8 points behind the evil penguins.

Wizards (See website for more details):
Wizards (7-2) moved into a 2 game lead over the Hawks and Heat.

Mystics (See website for more details):
Nothing to report.

D.C.United (See website for more details):
Nothing to report.

What do you want to see in the Ravens report? What should be scrapped? Actually, never mind. No one is reading this anyway so you probably won’t know the difference. Send an email to iggy at tealdragon.net. Thanks!

Iggy’s Predictions

“Past performance does not guarantee future success, but it sure is the way to bet!”

  • Week 11:
    • Fins over Bills (+5.5). Points were tempting, but no Thursday game this year has been changed by the Points. Bills kept to FGs only
    • Carolina over Atlanta (+2.5). Despite the virtually identical records, Carolina is the better team. Although Atlanta had more points. Go Figure.
    • Minnesota (+3.5) over Chicago. Two teams going no where. fast. Viking getting there quicker
    • Cleveland over Houston (+3.5). Cleveland is in first, but how long can they hold it? Surprise of the week!
    • Seattle (+1.5) over KC. Odds makers must know something I don’t. Seahawks were roadkill.
    • Saints over Bungles (+6.5), but take the points. Saints haven’t been very good as the favorite so far and a lot depends on if Dalton comes ready to play. Bengals opened a can on NO, priming them for our game
    • SF over Midgets (+4.5). Despite their turmoil off the fields, Niners are trying to move up in the standings, while Giants are trying to NOT move down. Midgets was about right.
    • Denver over Saint Louis (+9.5). Rams used all their bag of tricks against Seattle a few weeks ago. Rams only win big games, unfortunately for them, there is no BCS rankings to get them into the playoffs.
    • Skins over Tampa (+6.5), but take the points. If skins win, it won’t be by much. Skins are in shambles.
    • Chargers over Oakland (+9.5). I would have take the points if game was in Oakland. Raiders kept it close enough to cover.
    • Cards over Detroit (+1.5). Palmer out hurts, but there is more to Zona than just Palmer. People are still underrating the Cards.
    • Packers over Iggles (+6.5), but take the points. This could have been the Sunday night game if it weren’t for the game already scheduled, which is as good a match up! Looks like eagles showed up at the wrong time for this game.
    • Patsies (+2.5) over Colts. Despite have Luck on their side, Brady seems to find his A-game against top tier opponents. Bad Luck.
    • TTMNBN over Titans (+5.5). pittsburgh beat us by 20, and we beat Tennessee by 14… just doesn’t add up for the Titans. I had hope after 3 quarters, but that diminished.
    • This Week: 7-7 Straight Up and 6-8 Against the Spread
    • Season: 95-65-1 Straight Up and 71-90 Against the Spread
  • Week 12:
    • Chefs over Raiders (+7.5), but take the points. Raiders have covered 4 times this season, and played Chargers close last weekend.
    • Browns (+3.5) over Atlanta. I have to think that last weekend was an anomalous blip for Cleveland, who is really better than that performance.
    • Bills over Jets (+4.5), but take the points. Jets tend to play just good enough to lose.
    • Bears over Tampa (+5.5), but take the points. Tampa has winning record against the spread as the underdog.
    • Bungles (+1.5) over Houston. Houston is doing better, but not that much better.
    • Colts over Jags (+13.5). One of the best offenses against one of the worst defenses. This can’t end well for the Jags.
    • Packers over Minnesota (+9.5). Packers are on a tear right now, and Minnesota doesn’t have what it takes to stop them.
    • Patsies over Detroit (+6.5). Lions have an inflated record. pats are out of their league, playing in NE.
    • Eagles over Tennessee (+11.5). Titans playing on a short week, rarely keep these games close enough to cover. Eagles need a rebound after GB embarrassment.
    • Chargers over Rams (+4.5), but take the points. Not sure that this qualifies as a big game, but Rams could still salvage this season.
    • Cards (+6.5) over Hawks. I know this is in Seattle, but give the Cards some respect.
    • Denver over Miami (+7.5), but take the points. Fins have what it takes to hang with Denver, but doubtful they can pull off an upset in Mile High.
    • Niners over Skins (+8.5). Potatoes are in meltdown mode.
    • Boys over Gints (+3.5). New York is in shambles.
    • Saints over RAVENS (+3.5). Ravens have yet to win or cover as the underdog, and facing Brees on the road will only further expose our problems on defense.
