Iggy’s Baltimore Sports Report – November 26, 204

Ravens:
Now I know why the Saints are 4-7. They can’t stop the run, and their offensive line is very suspect. Ravens win another game that they are supposed to win, despite the crappy broadcasters and even worse officiating crew. It is, what it is, and now we have a short, turkey filled week to prepare for the Chargers. At least it is at home, but every game is a must win from here on out with a stacked North Division where everyone is a contender for the play-offs and probably will be until week 17.

Orioles:
Orioles have avoided making any hasty transactions in free agency so far, only acquiring LHP Scott Barnes in a cash trade with Cleveland, and signing infields Rey Navarro to a major league contract. Both are “projects” in my opinion.

Alouettes
For the 2nd time in 3 weeks, Hamilton sent the Als packing, knocking them out of the Eastern Division Championship 40-24. The Ti-Cats will face Calgary in Sunday for the Grey Cup.

Mariners
Nothing to report as the 2015 season remains in question as the battle with the Baltimore Arena remains an issue.

Blast:
The Blast moved to 3-0 with a 27-0 blow out of Harrisburg. Saturday, they travel to Syracuse for their first road game of the season.

Chesapeake Bayhawks: (Home games at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium)
Nothing to Report.

Charm:
Nothing to Report.

Capitals (See website for more details):
Caps improved to 9-8-3 (21 Points), now 9 points behind the evil penguins.

Wizards (See website for more details):
Wizards (9-4) are 1.5 games ahead of Atlanta and in the 2 seed (It’s never to early to start watching that, is it?)

Mystics (See website for more details):
Nothing to report.

D.C.United (See website for more details):
Nothing to report.

What do you want to see in the Ravens report? What should be scrapped? Actually, never mind. No one is reading this anyway so you probably won’t know the difference. Send an email to iggy at tealdragon.net. Thanks!

Iggy’s Predictions

“Past performance does not guarantee future success, but it sure is the way to bet!”

  • Week 12:
    • Chefs over Raiders (+7.5), but take the points. Raiders have covered 4 times this season, and played Chargers close last weekend. Raider win Super Bowl (sort of)
    • Browns (+3.5) over Atlanta. I have to think that last weekend was an anomalous blip for Cleveland, who is really better than that performance. Took a last second FG, but Cleveland stays in the hunt.
    • Bears over Tampa (+5.5), but take the points. Tampa has winning record against the spread as the underdog. Bears win by 8.
    • Bungles (+1.5) over Houston. Houston is doing better, but not that much better. Cincinnati stays in first with a win.
    • Colts over Jags (+13.5). One of the best offenses against one of the worst defenses. This can’t end well for the Jags. Colts tried to give it away, but Jags were accepting gifts.
    • Packers over Minnesota (+9.5). Packers are on a tear right now, and Minnesota doesn’t have what it takes to stop them. Packers dial it down with a 3 point win.
    • Patsies over Detroit (+6.5). Lions have an inflated record. pats are out of their league, playing in NE. No contest among these division leaders.
    • Eagles over Tennessee (+11.5). Titans playing on a short week, rarely keep these games close enough to cover. Eagles need a rebound after GB embarrassment. Eagles run up the score.
    • Chargers over Rams (+4.5), but take the points. Not sure that this qualifies as a big game, but Rams could still salvage this season. Chargers win, but fail to cover.
    • Cards (+6.5) over Hawks. I know this is in Seattle, but give the Cards some respect. Losing Palmer will probably cost the Cards in the end.
    • Denver over Miami (+7.5), but take the points. Fins have what it takes to hang with Denver, but doubtful they can pull off an upset in Mile High. Miami looked good early, but had to get creative to make it close in the end.
    • Niners over Skins (+8.5). Potatoes are in meltdown mode. Skins played D, but still fail on offense.
    • Boys over Gints (+3.5). New York is in shambles. Dallas comes from behind and wins by 3.
    • Bills over Jets (+4.5), but take the points. Jets tend to play just good enough to lose. Jets have given up.
    • Saints over RAVENS (+3.5). Ravens have yet to win or cover as the underdog, and facing Brees on the road will only further expose our problems on defense. Saints become first team to lead division while 3 games under .500
    • This Week: 12-3 Straight Up and 8-7 Against the Spread
    • Season: 107-68-1 Straight Up and 79-97 Against the Spread
  • Week 13:
    • Detroit over Bears (+6.5) Serving Bear meat instead of Turkey in Detroit.
    • Dallas over Eagles (+3.5), but take the points. These 2 play twice over next 3 weeks, and both should be good games.
    • Seattle (+1.5) over Niners. Saw the Niners play against the Skins and it won’t be pretty if they play the same way against a real opponent.
    • Baltimore over SD (+5.5). Although taking the points was tempting, the Ravens are 6-1 as the favorite this year.
    • Cleveland (+2.5) over Buffalo. Browns are actually playing for something reachable here.
    • Houston over Tennessee (+6.5). Houston won by 2 TDs in TN earlier this season, and this game is at home now.
    • Indy over the Potatoes (+9.5). Colts need to play better than last week, but should cover that spread by halftime.
    • Giants over Jags (+2.5). When this game ends, will anyone notice that it had started?
    • Vikings over Panthers (+2.5). Went with the home team.
    • squealors over Aint’s (+3.5). Ben will have his way with the Aint’s, and then turn it over to the running game.
    • Rams over Raiders (+6.5), but take the points. Rams play to the level of their competition, and the Raiders have covered the spread 4 times so far this year.
    • Bungles over Bucs (+3.5). That spread should be insulting to Cincinnati.
    • Cards over Atlanta (+2.5). NFC South could be looking at a division leader 4 games under .500 after this weekend.
    • Packers over Pats (+3.5), but take the points. Should be Sunday night game of the week!
    • KC (+1.5) over Denver. Denver won by 7 at home earlier in the season, but I think this time, it will be different.
    • Fins over Jets (+5.5). Good candidate for blow out of the week.
