Iggy’s Baltimore Sports Report – January 10, 2017

Ravens:
Well, not much will get done until after the super bowl, so all we can do is watch the pathetic excuse for football game being promoted by the No Fun League. In Saturday’s action, the Houston won the battle of depleted QB, while Seattle club the Lions. On Sunday, the Fins should that they can’t stop a crossing route, while the Giants did their best “Ravens” impression. However, the weekend highlight occurred after all the games were over when pittsburgh THUG Joey Porter was arrested for disorderly conduct and assaulting a bouncer and a cop. He has been placed on administrative leave. 🙂

Orioles:
Orioles trade Gallardo to Seattle for Seth Smith, who will likely be a regular, but not daily, OF. BORING!

Alouettes
Nothing to report.

Blast (MASL):
The Blast (7-3) won this past weekend to extend their lead to 2.5 games.

Chesapeake Bayhawks: (Home games at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium)
The Bayhawks completed their supplementary draft picks, picking up several men with local ties.

Capitals (See website for more details):
Caps (26-9-5) moved into a 3-way for 2nd place in the division and a 4-way tie for 2nd best record in the NFL. They are 3 points behind Columbus for the division lead.

Wizards (See website for more details):
A rocky week had the Wizards (18-18) lose 2, but then win 2 to return to sea-level. They are in the 8 seed spot.

D.C.United (See website for more details):
Nothing to report.

What do you want to see in the Ravens report? What should be scrapped? Actually, never mind. No one is reading this anyway so you probably won’t know the difference. Send an email to iggy at tealdragon.net. Thanks!

Iggy’s Predictions

“Past performance does not guarantee future success, but it sure is the way to bet!”

  • Wild Card:
    • @Houston over Raiders (+2.5). Despite the stats and the fact that the Raiders won in Oakland against Houston earlier this year, Raiders are lost without their Carr. Houston ends the suffering for Raiders.
    • @Seattle over Lions (+7.5), but take the points. Seattle is 5-8, failing to cover 4 times as the favorite. These 2 did not meet during the regular season. Lions are still surprised they made the playoffs.
    • @squealors over Fins (+9.5), but take the points. Miami won at home 30-15 during regular season, but now they have to travel to the eerily lucky squealors. ()&*^(*&^*() squealors.
    • @GB over Giants (+4.5), but take the points. Packers won 23-16 at home during the regular season, but are horrible ATS. Giants march up and down the field to score FGs and produce turnovers.

    • This Week: 4-0 SU, 1-3 ATS
    • This Season: 150-108-2 SU, 113-147 ATS
  • Wild Card:
    • @Falcons over Hawks (+4.5), but take the points. Falcons lost by 2 in Seattle in October, and I expect another close game.
    • @Pats over Houston (+16.5). Hard to give up those points, but Houston will need twice that.
    • squealors (+1.5) over @KC. KC lost this regular season match-up on the road 43-14, and that was pretty lop sided. I want to be wrong.
    • @Dallas over Packers (+4.5). Cowboys won by 2 TDs in GB earlier this season.
