Iggy’s Baltimore Sports Report – August 14, 2014

Ravens:
First preseason is out of the way, and no key injuries… Running game looks to be by committee, so don’t be banking on a Ravens RB in your fantasy league… Questionable Offensive Line off to a decent start, but only time will tell… NFL is working up a plan for a mandatory suspension of 4 to 6 games for domestic violence cases, after taking significant heat for the perceived light sentence on Ray Rice…

Orioles:
The Orioles have won 8 straight series, and are now 7.5 games up (8 in the loss column), biggest lead in the majors, as the O’s boast the 3rd best record, behind the A’s and Angels… O’s are taking extreme precautions with Machado after injuring his other knee… They are exciting to watch, although a bit traumatic at times.

Alouettes
The Al’s lost again and are now 1-5. They play Saskatchewan (4-2) on Friday.

Mariners
Nothing to report as the 2015 season remains in question will the battle with the Baltimore Arena remains an issue.

Blast:
Blast will host Syracuse November 8 to open the season. Rest of schedule is not on their website.

Chesapeake Bayhawks: (Home games at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium)
Season ended with a win, but they miss the playoffs.

Charm:
Charm lose final regular season game 19-12, to fall to 1-2, and fail to advance into the postseason.

Nothing to report.

Wizards (See website for more details):
2014-15 schedule released with the Wizards opening on the road in Miami. First home game is Saturday, November 1 against Milwaukee.

Mystics (See website for more details):
Mystics (15-17) have lost 2 in a row, and are in a 3-way tie for 2nd place with 2 games left.

D.C.United (See website for more details):
United (11-7-4) has lost 2 in a row, and dropped 2 points behind KC for the Conference lead.
