Iggy’s Baltimore Sports Report – August 19, 2014

Ravens:
Another Preseason win, but what is becoming more and more clear is our lack of pass rush and our lack of depth at CB. Ravens need to consider converting a WR that is likely to get cut into a CB, or sign someone else out there, because this can be painful. Ravens also had a tendency to not tackle. I’m not an expert, but this could be bad as well. It’s still early, and I expect these cob webs to clear up before the first game. ’cause if they don’t… well, let’s just hope that they do!

Orioles:
The Orioles struggles against the AL Central continued as the Indians darn near swept up, but pitching match-ups are more favorable against the White Sox and Cubs, and the O’s should rebound for a successful road trip. A side note, Jiminez just because the most over priced guy buried in the bullpen, as the O’s bounced him from the rotation.

Alouettes
Week 8: Lost to Saskatchewan 16-11. Als (1-6, T2nd or T-Last) travel to Winnipeg (5-3, T4th or T-Last) on Friday night.

Mariners
Nothing to report as the 2015 season remains in question will the battle with the Baltimore Arena remains an issue.

Blast:
Blast will host Syracuse November 8 to open the season. Rest of schedule is not on their website… still.

Chesapeake Bayhawks: (Home games at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium)
1. Rochester faces 3. Denver at Kennesaw, Georgia for the Championship on Saturday.

Charm:
Atlanta defeats Jacksonville to advanced to the title game against the Chicago/Los Angeles winner.

Capitals (See website for more details):
Nothing to report.

Wizards (See website for more details):
2014-15 schedule released with the Wizards opening on the road in Miami. First home game is Saturday, November 1 against Milwaukee.

Mystics (See website for more details):
Mystics (16-18) won to make the playoffs, but then failed to clinch the 2 seed, losing to spoiler NY. Mystics will face 2 seeded Indiana in a best of 3 series starting Thursday.

D.C.United (See website for more details):
United (12-7-4) won this weekend, but are still 2 points behind KC (12-6-6).

What do you want to see in the Ravens report? What should be scrapped? Actually, never mind. No one is reading this anyway so you probably won’t know the difference. Send an email to iggy at tealdragon.net. Thanks!
