Iggy’s Baltimore Sports Report – December 22, 2015

News and Personal Thoughts:
GoogleDoc ticket sharing status: 1 set of tickets for Pittsburgh still. Check it out at Ravens Roost 4 Ticket Exchange.

Ravens:
Three costly mistakes turned this score into a route. Had it not been for the Fumble-6 (which turned the tides), the fake punt from our 20 (Dug our hole), and the Pick 6 (desperation driven garbage points), the game was actually rather closely paid. Good teams don’t make mistakes. Bad teams do. Although we are sitting in a #3 draft spot, this is our Super Bowl on Sunday. Beat the stealers twice in a season and place a large blow to their playoffs hopes is priceless, and these guys will be pumped for the game. However, will it be enough? Don’t bet on it. This game has blowout written all over it.

Orioles:
Nothing to report.

Alouettes
Nothing to report.

Blast (MASL):
The Blasts improved to 7-0 and lead their division by 4 games.

Chesapeake Bayhawks: (Home games at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium)
Nothing new to report: The Bayhawks open the season on April 23 in Atlanta, before 3 straight home games.

Capitals (See website for more details):
The Caps are now 25-6-2, and tied for best record in the NHL. They lead the Rangers by 9 points and face off against Montreal (tied for 2nd best record in the conference) on Saturday.

Wizards (See website for more details):
At 12-14, the Wizards are still in last place in a division and 4th worse in the conference.

Mystics (See website for more details):
Nothing to Report.

D.C.United (See website for more details):
Nothing to Report.

What do you want to see in the Ravens report? What should be scrapped? Actually, never mind. No one is reading this anyway so you probably won’t know the difference. Send an email to iggy at tealdragon.net. Thanks!

Iggy’s Predictions

“Past performance does not guarantee future success, but it sure is the way to bet!”

  • NFL, Week 15
    • Rams over Bucks (+1.5). Although TB has QB of their future, Rams at home will be tough. Rams win, but both teams are out.
    • Jets over Dallas (+3.5). Jet are in a playoff position and need to keep the intensity. Dallas is about out with loss last week. Jets win to keep pace, but fall behind pittsburgh on tie-breakers.
    • KC over Baltimore (+7.5). QB up in the air, and the streak over… be safe. Shot ourselves in our own foot.
    • Houston (+.5) over Indy. I picked Houston because I already picked too many teams that were favorites. Flip a coin. Texans win, take over first.
    • Pats over TN (+13.5), but take the points. NE has failed to cover 4 times, and TN has covered thrice. Just playing the odds here. Not enough points to flip the winner ATS.
    • Skins (+.5) over Bills. Skins are dreaming of a division title. Looks like a Christmas present is coming: 1 and done playoff run.
    • Vikings over Bears (+5.5). Minnesota had 10 days to prepare after Thursday night loss. Vikings win, 1 game behind GB.
    • Panthers over Giants (+5.5). I don’t think Carolina will let up with the clinching. Giants comeback not enough, but cover the points.
    • Jags over Atlanta (+3.5). Falcons are roadkill. Falcons find a win for a change.
    • Packers over Raiders (+3.5), but take the points. GB has been up and down. With game in Oakland, I think this might be close. GB wins to stay 1 up on MN.
    • Seattle over Cleveland (+14.5). Seattle is hottest team right now. Seattle wins and covers big points.
    • Bengals over Niners (+4.5). Even with backup QB, Cincinnati will roll. And they did.
    • Denver (+6.5) over Pittsburgh. Wishful thinking partly, but in the very least I think Denver should cover those points. They have the D to keep it close. 2nd half collapse cost Denver in many ways.
    • Chargers over Miami (+1.5). Does anyone want to win this game? Chargers win at home, reduce draft status.
    • Arizona over Philly (+3.5), but take the points. Arizona has failed to cover 3 times, while Philly is 3-1 as the underdog. Arizona top scoring team this week.
    • Saints over Detroit (+2.5). Saints are back on track, but going no where. Stafford puts up big numbers as Detroit also drops in the draft list.
    • This Week: 13-3 SU (Straight Up), 8-8 ATS (Against the Spread)
    • This Season: 136-88 SU, 113-111 ATS
  • NFL, Week 16
    • Oakland over SD (+5.5), but take the points. Lousy match-up to provide close game that no one wants.
    • Skins (+3.5) over Eagles. With a win, Skins could make it to the promised land.
    • squealors over Ravens (+10.5). With streak done, so are we. Blow out potential.
    • Tampa over Bears (+2.5). Tampa 3-2 as favorites, Bears 5-6 as underdog.
    • Carolina over Atlanta (+6.5). Atlanta’s 7-7 record is VERY inflated.
    • Bills over Dallas (+6.5). Last 3 match-ups of these two has features 13 Turnovers by the visitors, and only 1 by the home team.
    • Lions over Niners (+8.5). Lions to win again, but SF to keep it close.
    • KC over Cleveland (+12.5). KC needs this for division and Wild card hopes.
    • Indy (+0.5) over Miami. Fins are watching the draft board, not the scoreboard.
    • Pats over Jets (+3.5), but take the points. Pats have clinched a bye, are are closed to home field. Jets are a tie-breaker off the playoff picture.
    • Houston (+4.5) over Tennessee. Despite injuries and .500 record, Houston owns their fate to division title.
    • Saints over Jags (+3.5). Which Saints team to show up?
    • Packers (+4.5) over Cards. Cards have virtually locked up 2 seed (2 games back of Carolina and 2 games ahead of GB), while Green Bay is only 1 game ahead of MN for division title. Pack have more at stake.
    • Seattle over Rams (+13.5). Hawks are the team to be watch right now.
    • Vikings over Giants (+5.5), but take the points. Giants pushing to stay relevant, Vikings pushing for division title shot.
    • Denver over Cincinnati (+3.5), but take the points. Denver keeps losing it late, and Cincinnati is working over a backup generator.
