Iggy’s Baltimore Sports Report – August 4, 2013

Ravens:
Ogden becomes the charter member of the Ravens in the Hall of Fame, but half you guys were there for the induction! Meanwhile, back at the ranch, the Ravens prepare for their first preseason game, where a lot of fringe players will need to be noticed or dust off that college resume for an alternate career path.

Orioles:
Despite acquiring additional pitching support, the inconsistent pitching and erratic hitting continues to plague the Orioles as their deficit in the division and wild card continues to grow. They need to get hot, and FAST, as they embark on an 8 game west coast inter-league circuit.

Alouettes
The Als (2-3, 2nd) were off this week after a 32-27 win over Winnipeg (1-4, 4th) last Thursday. They will host first place Toronto (3-2) on Thursday.

Blast:
The MISL as added another new Franchise, this time to Reading, Pennsylvania. They will be called the Pennsylvania Roar and will participate in the 2013-4 season.

Chesapeake Bayhawks: (Home games at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium)
After losing 14-8 to undefeated Denver (12-0), the Bayhawks (8-5, 3rd, 4.5 GB) bounced back with a 12-8 win over Rochester (5-8). They will finish the season at home next Saturday against Charlotte (7-6, 4th), both teams having clinched playoff berths.

Charm:
The Charm (3-1) finished the regular season (3-1) with a 12-6 road victory over Omaha (1-3) on Saturday to clinch the conference title. Next game will be Saturday, August 17, but the Opponent is TBD.

Mystics have lost 4 of 5 and are in 4th place.

DC has won 2 of 3, but are still the worst team in the league.
