Iggy’s Baltimore Sports Report – November 11, 2015

News and Personal Thoughts:
The GoogleDoc ticket sharing status: NEW ENTRY for Jacksonville game. Still some outstanding tickets available for Seattle and Pittsburgh tickets. Check it out at Ravens Roost 4 Ticket Exchange.

Ravens:
Pitta has been scratched for the season, but the Ravens players are talking about being the first 2-6 teams to make the playoffs under the current post season format. Frankly, speaking, it is possible. With only 2 opponents with winning record (steelers and Bengals) and 5 home games left, the Ravens could still turn this train wreck around. First things first, they need to stop the mistakes and play like the deserve. So far, not so much.

Orioles:
Manny Machado wins his 2nd Gold Glove, and Adam Jones wins the Marvin Miller Award for his contributions on and off the field.

Alouettes
Montreal (6-12) lost to Saskatchewan, ending their season.

Blast (MASL):
Season starts with a 7-4 win.

Chesapeake Bayhawks: (Home games at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium)
Nothing new to report.

Capitals (See website for more details):
Caps are 4 points behind the Rangers.

Wizards (See website for more details):
After a promising start, the Wizards have dropped below .500 at 3-4.

Mystics (See website for more details):
Nothing to Report.

D.C.United (See website for more details):
United lost the 2nd leg of the 2-game aggregate, ending their season.

What do you want to see in the Ravens report? What should be scrapped? Actually, never mind. No one is reading this anyway so you probably won’t know the difference. Send an email to iggy at tealdragon.net. Thanks!

Iggy’s Predictions

“Past performance does not guarantee future success, but it sure is the way to bet!”

  • NFL, Week 9
    • Bengals over Brownies (+10.5). Manziel to start. No surprise.
    • Bills over Miami (+3.5). Going with the home team. Miami looks like they have given up.
    • Carolina (+2.5) over GB. Going with the home team again. Confirmed by a coin toss this time. Panthers have established themselves as real.
    • Jags (+4.5) over Jets. Jets have NO healthy QBs. Apparently no healthy QBs is still better than Jacksonville.
    • Vikings over Rams (2.5). Minnesota is 5-1 as the favorite this season. Goes to OK, Vikings win.
    • Pats over skins (+13.5). Points tempting, but NE usually takes advantage to run up the score in these situations. Surprised skins got 10 points.
    • Saints over Tennessee (+8.5), but take the points. Titans are 4-1 as the dog this season, although they did lose last week. Titans take it in OT.
    • squealors over Raiders (+4.5), but take the points. Raiders are actually in a wild card spot, but can they hold it? Goes down to the wire, with a field goal deciding it.
    • Giants over Tampa (+2.5). Eli may have found his groove after last week. Fumble/TD at the buzzer makes this game look worse than it was.
    • Falcons over SF (+6.5), but take the points. On one hand Atlanta is 2-4 as the favorite and has had problems putting points on the board, but SF can’t score either. Niners just switched QBs and OCs. SF wins outright. Falcons are sinking fast.
    • Broncos over Colts (+4.5), but take the points. Denver is 3-2 as the favorite, while Indy is 3-0 as the dog. Colts win, ending Denver’s perfect season in a weird game.
    • Eagles over Dallas (+2.5). Been telling you all season, take the road team in NFC match-ups. Once again, Road team prevails.
    • Chargers over Bears (+3.5). Chargers are at home and have more to offer than the bears, despite their similar records. How ’bout dem bears!
    • This Week: 8-5 SU (Straight Up), 11-2 ATS (Against the Spread)
    • This Season: 84-48 SU, 74-58 ATS
  • NFL, Week 10
    • Jets over Bills (+2.5). Jets seem to have more momentum right now.
    • Ravens over Jags (+5.5), but take the points. You KNOW this will be decided by 1 score or less.
    • pit over Browns (+4.5). I can only hope that Cleveland can win.
    • Panthers over Titans (+4.5), but take the points. Titans are 5-1 and covered 3 times this season as the underdog, but note that Carolina is also 5-1 and failed to cover once as the favorite.
    • Rams over Bears (+7.5). Rams have the better D.
    • Dallas (+1.5) over Tampa. 2 teams not making the playoffs.
    • Packers over Detroit (+11.5). Need to add more points.
    • Eagles over Fins (+6.5). Miami is looking really bad lately.
    • Saints over Skins (+1.5). With as bad as the Saints have been playing, skins could win this one.
    • Vikings (+3.5) over Raiders. Minnesota is tied for first, and Bridgewater is on pace to play.
    • Denver over KC (+6.5). KC injuries and location lead me to Denver.
    • Pats over Giants (+7.5), but take the points. Giants have always had the Pats number, but can they give them their first loss… again?
    • Cards (+2.5) over Seattle. Don’t care if it is in Seattle, this is not the Seattle of recent years.
    • Cincinnati over Houston (+10.5). Blow out of the week.
