Iggy’s Baltimore Sports report – February 25, 2014

Ravens:
Ray Rice is dumber than we thought. I expect a fine from NJ, a fine from the NFL, and a 2 game suspension… Deonte Thompson is trying to keep up with the Rice’s. He was busted on suspicion of MJ. Apparently, he owned the “bag” but not the “contents.” As an under-performer, expect him gone next season anyway.

Orioles:
O’s continued buying spree by picking up Nelson Cruz to serve as DH. Negotiations are on-going to extend out JJ hardy.

Alouettes
Tom Higgins announced as the new head coach.

Blast:
The Blast (16-3) won back tgo back games against Syracuse and Rochester, and will close out the regular season at Pennsylvania (1-18). The Blasts are now tied in the Loss column with Milwaukee (15-3), and Baltimore can steal first with a win this weekend, and a Milwaukee loss. The wave have the tie breaker over Baltimore.

Chesapeake Bayhawks: (Home games at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium)
Major League Lacrosse, the premier professional outdoor lacrosse league, unveiled the YouTube Schedule for 2014. The MLL’s YouTube channel (YouTube.com/MLL) along with The Lacrosse Network(YouTube.com/TLN) will carry 16 games in high definition this season, making the games available on a variety of platforms worldwide.

Charm:
Nothing to Report.

Capitals (See website for more details):
Olympic break is over; regular season to resume this week.

Wizards (See website for more details):
The Wizards (28-28) have won 3 in a row to return to .500 for the 9th time this season. Wizards are now 5th seed in the conference.

Mystics (See website for more details):
Nothing to Report.

D.C.United (See website for more details):
DC United (1-2) finally got a preseason win against Houston on Saturday, and will play Charleston on Wednesday. Regular season starts on 3/8.

What do you want to see in the Ravens report? What should be scrapped? Actually, never mind. No one is reading this anyway so you probably won’t know the difference. Send an email to iggy at tealdragon.net. Thanks!
